Lord Sheikh hosted a meeting in the House of Lords where Professor Mona Makram-Ebeid was the main speaker. Professor Makram-Ebeid has had a long and distinguished career as a Parliamentarian, teacher and international consultant. She teaches Political Science and Sociology at the American University in Cairo and is a member of organisations that focus on education and civil society, human rights and women’s issues.

Lord Sheikh in his speech mentioned the fact that he was a member of the recent delegation that visited Egypt. The delegation held 18 meetings during their trip and gained first-hand knowledge of the conditions and problems facing Egypt.
