Nepal Development Conference

Posted by Lord Sheikh

On 18th September, Lord Sheikh delivered the opening remarks at the virtual Nepal Development Conference, hosted by DMA. The event can be watched On Demand.

Lord Sheikh announced the formation of the UK-Nepal Trade and Investment Forum (UNTIF) has been created to strengthen the 200-year strong relationship between the two countries, and further develop trade and investment opportunities.

The UNTIF will create unique networking opportunities through a series of high-level events with key decision-makers in the Nepalese Government and access to a range of businesses in both countries.

Lord Sheikh discussed the depth of the relationship between the UK and Nepal, and noted that we need more British companies to do business in Nepal. Furthermore, the presence of some large companies in Nepal should be seen as a signal to others that this country is a great place to do business.
