Lord Sheikh is a patron and supporter of the charity Orphans in Need. 

A team from Orphans in need – the Founder Trustee, Anis Musa, and UK Director, Jonaed Afza, International Programmes Manager, Mohamed Maigag, and photographer and videographer, John Brown –  visited Sudan in early December with . A Higher Education Scholarship has also been created and named after Lord Sheikh for Ahfad University for Women.
