Lord Sheikh attended an event to celebrate Vaisakhi held by the Punjabi Society of the British Isles. At the event, Lord Sheikh spoke about the achievements of Punjabis in the UK.

The Punjabi Society of the British Isles made a donation to the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund. Lord Sheikh also gave a donation to the Punjabi Society of the British Isles on the night. 

Lord & Lady Sheikh were presented with an award by Dominic Grieve QC MP (Shadow Secretary of State for Justice) on behalf of the Punjabi Society of the British Isles for outstanding services to the community. Lord Sheikh said that he was accepting the award with great humility.
